Hesperus – Lord of Tartarus
I am Hesperus. Once I was an angel in heaven. In ontediluvian times. I forseek my station and followed the angel of light to earth. There I was his right hand. I commanded all the armies of demons and Nephelim.
I had no equal and was trusted with everything. Mankind was Forced to bow low before us or suffer the most violent of deaths. Lucifer had many wives. He would fool them into believing that they would be marriying one of the true sons of God.
Little did they know their frail bodies would be unable to satisfy all of his wicked urges. One day a messanger brought news of a woman so strangly fair that he immediately dispatched me to find and bring her to him.
I found her inhabiting a cave on the banks of the Mediterranean. I was not prepared for what I found. She was the most beautiful of daughters of man. Her pale skin, long dark hair, violet eyes and mildly gount features commended attention.
I knew the very instant I saw her that I would not be taking her to Lucifer. Not a single one of us were good enough for the beauty I saw. Everything I had been doing suddenly doubted in a single moment. I turned to leave without speaking a word, but she stopped me.
In my eyes she had seen remarse. In her's I saw hope and regret. She bid me to sit and listen for a while so I did. She told me her name was Aurora and that she was once a Seraphim living in God's light. She had been sent to earth in human form to warn the daughters of man against making a union with the Fallen Angels.
Their offspring, the Nephelim, halfman, halfangel were abnominations. In her quest she had been led here to this cave by a man who said he had many daughters she needed to speak with.
She followed only to find that he was a descendant of Cain, the first man cursed by God. Cain and his line were cursed to dwell in darkness feading of the creatures found there.
Not content with this they began to feed off of human kind transforming themselves into the first of the vampire line. She saw his true form too late, for he was upon her and drinking. Unable to fight back in her human form, she was overtaken. In her blood he tasted what she truly was. For his own cruel sort of revenge towards God he transformed her. Now she was forever lost to heaven, forced to roam the earth with an insatiable hunger.
I then understood the reason for her slightly sunken look for she hadn't been able to feed. She would not allow herself to take the life of humans to survive. I forsook all and pulled her to my throat for she would not kill me. She drank deeply and I saw color begin to rise into her cheeks again. From that moment forward we bound ourselves together, I sharing my demonic powers and her embracing me with those of the vampire. I was filled with remarse for all I had done. My only saving grace…that my actions had brought me a new Faith. This was a religion I knew I would jubilantly adhere to for the rest of my days.
Neither Aurora or I could return to heaven but we didn't need to. We'd found our own heaven together. Heaven need not to be a location. For me Heaven is one person, one beautiful creature, Aurora.
Now together we play in the shadows and weigh the hearts of all creatures. Lucifer still raves the earth wanting what I have. He can never have it. Once true friends, now true enemies. We do God's work in our own way.
He needs someone to carry out his sentence of damnation. Innocence never need fear of us. But the wicked, oh the wicked, we will drain your very soul to it's marrow. Death? No we will not bring death, but far worse. For we rule Tartarus side by side. The deepest pit of hell is waiting and is always hungry.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the fate of the vampire who embraced my love. His bones now decorate my mantle, what was left of them, and
his soul screams eternally. Some things must never go unpunished.
If you see her, avert you eyes, bow your head! You are not worthy. She is Aurora. She is mine. I do not share.
